Hey there Cupcake!

I've had a little fun in the kitchen lately. First off, my daughter Caitlyn just turned 15. She wanted a Cookie Monster cake (No Veggie Monster here) I scored this cake pan in a second hand kids store for $6. It was made the year I was born. 1971
I don't think I have ever blogged about my cake decorating. I do decorate cakes. I only do it for the family. I have never made a cake for someone else or have been hired to make one. I don't believe I am that good. I have made many different characters over the years and have created a few from fondant as well. Someday, I will post the photos. But here is what I did for Caitlyn on Saturday.

Making real cakes and cupcakes are fun but the fake ones are dandy too! My friend and fellow consultant, Tresa Black aka the stampgoddess found this adorable recipe on the fake cupcakes or cupcakes made from paper and embellishments. If you are interested in making one of your own, check out Tresa's blog (fabulouslyartsy.blogspot.com) She has a video tutorial on them. Ps. it's worth watching just to see her husband's reaction! I had a great time making mine. I made two different ones. One with a sweet baby girl theme for my friend Karen's daughter who just had her first baby. The second one is for my friend Cathy who just had a birthday.

Enjoy!
Ps. I am traveling to Maine for a week of house hunting and photo taking. Not to mention over eating & shopping. Hopefully I will get to blog there!

Hi Tracey!
This is Amy McGrew, a fellow CTMH consultant. I love your blog! I enjoyed your story about the book club! I have two daughters (age 6 and 8) and we are considering starting and American Girl Book Club this summer. Your story makes me think into the future and how fun it would be to do something like this when they are older. I think it is great that your 18 year old invited you into her book club. Very cool!

Good luck in Maine. Have you been there? I grew up in Connecticut and we went to Maine for summer vacations. I hope you find the house of your dreams there. When is the move supposed to take place?

Make it a great day!

SMiles,
Amy
