I've gone Ga-Ga for Houndstooth...

Seems everywhere I turn I see Houndstooth. Papers, Stamps (CTMH), Cuttlebug embossing folder, Stationary, Wrapping Paper, Bags, Clothes- even the seats in my new car (Kia Soul)! I seriously can't get enough. I've gone Ga-Ga.

I couldn't live with myself any longer without making something with that sa-weet pattern. After completing all my household chores (I think better with a clean house, sick or what?) I decided to make a simple Valentine's card. To keep things simple I only pulled a few sheets of pattern paper and brightly colored cardstocks. I limited myself to 2 border punches and 2 basic shape punches (heart & word window) NO EMBELLISHMENTS. Could I really do it? I wasn't sure. It goes against everything I stand for. I embellish therefore I am. Well let me tell you- there is something liberating about limitation. Less to think about can make you crank it out. Weird or what?
One simple card turned into 4 plus a layout. I completed all 5 in one hour. Say it ain't so. It's true sisters & brothers (that's for Paulo). See for yourself...

If you are wondering about the birdie-it was part of the pattern paper that I chose from Heidi Swapp. I just cut it out. The flip side of that pattern was full Houndstooth. Sweet paper that I've been hording. Yes I know I haven't completed my journaling.

Now I have cards for all my Valentines and a layout from my 4th Anniversary. That's Hot. Are you Ga-Ga for Houndstooth or am I alone in this?

Ps. Thanks to all you well wishers- Whitney has 2 feet safely planted in San Francisco! It was not without incident however. Here in Portland she was stopped in Security and searched. I guess there is something suspicious about a young girl with art supplies & a half sewn jacket in her carry on bag! ha-ha Mama's little jacket bomber!

Till we meet again,

Tracey

I'm on the houndstooth bandwagon. LOVE that stuff. Your creations are to die for. I love the bright colors with it.

love the barking-bicuspics patterns too!

Glad Whitney made it back ok!
Haley got pulled aside at every check point too...I think it brightens the dreariness for the TSA workers AND adds a "checked 2 young female americans" off the list!
ha!
